But, but, but - where is the beard? A dwarf without a beard? Or is the picture from another movie?

But, but, but - where is the beard? A dwarf without a beard? Or is the picture from another movie?

You know, that picture looks like it was from "Robin Hood" to me.  If you look at the pictures of Bilbo, there is one where he's looking at a roll of parchment on his front doorstep and in the background you can see Richard with a beard.

Oh yeah, that picture is definitely greasy Gisbourne.

So, Thorin Oakenshield is "mean and moody," eh?  A real departure from previous roles, then.   Want to bet that "Thorin" turns out to be Dwarvish for "John"? ;)

Phew, thanks again!  (I haven't seen the Robin-Hood-movie.)

Richard wasn't in the movie - he was in the BBC Robin Hood series.  He played Guy of Gisbourne.

Towards the end of the movie, instead of having his canonical death scene, he'll reveal to Gandalf that his name is really Johrin, and that he works for Sauron because it's good for his self esteem.
