Any cute baby quilt patterns out there?

I just found out that I'm going to be a Great-Auntie and I'm thinking of making a baby quilt/blanket for him/her.

I was wondering if any of you have a cute pattern for a quilt or a knitted or crocheted baby blanket?

Maybe you can find something here. I tend to go for the one piece blankets. I have no patience for sewing little squares together.  :dry:

Can't help with the baby quilt patterns, but I know a woman who can... at least I think she might be able to.  I'll email PolleePal in the morning. ;)

Baby quilt patterns? Well, I made up the one I did for new grandson (see below) to co-ordinate with the 'Hodge Podge' range from Mamas & Papas, and am making one up for LittlePal's offspring-to-be (no design spoilers here, just in case! Heh heh...)


The one below wasn't made as a baby quilt, but uses the 'Moon over Mountain' block and another of four triangles put together. With the right colours, it could work as a sleepytime quilt.


You could always stick to an easy structure of squares and strips, or a simple nine patch block, and incorporate different prints and colours with some relevance to the family, depending on what they like. Let's face it, the baby will be too young to appreciate it, so you may as well do something that the parents will like!

I SHOULD stick to a simple nine patch, but I see a pattern or some fabric made up and I get really carried away.  :w00t:   I made a quilt for my cousin's son and it just kept getting more out of hand!  :smile2:

Since they live in Hawaii, I could do one with tropical prints, but I just got a book from the library and the baby-centric patterns are soooooooo cute!!

Oh well, I have a bit of time before I need to figure out what I want to do.

Congrats!   I am sure you will have a great time with the little one! 

I call my great nephew, Ryan, my grand nephew.  Why?  When he was born, I was being the proud auntie and told someone that my niece won't let me get anything for my great nephew.  Her response?   Well, she will have to get used to having a brother.   :w00t:   I was like huh?  :blink:  They are mother/son and not brother/sister.  So, you that phrase of grand nephew and no one will question the fact that both you and I would never say one nephew is better than another.  :naughty:
